Standard Lithium Ltd. has completed a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for its South West Arkansas (SWA) Project, focusing on lithium extraction from brine in the Smackover Formation. The project, located in Lafayette and Columbia Counties, Arkansas, aims to produce battery-quality lithium hydroxide. The PFS outlines a resource estimate of 1,430 thousand metric tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) in the Indicated category and 392 thousand metric tonnes LCE in the Inferred category. The project proposes a 20-year operation with an average annual production of 30,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide, with potential for 35,000 tonnes per annum. The estimated capital expenditure is US$1.27 billion, with an all-in operating cost of $5,229 per tonne of lithium hydroxide. The project demonstrates robust economics with a pre-tax NPV of US$4.47 billion and an IRR of 41.3%. The next steps include further reservoir modeling, flowsheet optimization, and additional test wells to support a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS).
