LG&E and KU File Stipulation Agreement with Kentucky Public Service Commission
On July 29, 2025, Louisville Gas and Electric Company (LG&E) and Kentucky Utilities Company (KU) filed a stipulation agreement with the Kentucky Public Service Commission (KPSC) regarding future generation-related construction projects. The agreement includes the construction of two 645 MW natural gas combined-cycle units at KU's E.W. Brown Generating Station and LG&E's Mill Creek Generating Station, and the installation of a selective catalytic reduction system at KU's Ghent Generating Station. The stipulation also addresses regulatory asset accounting, proposed data center tariffs, and future renewable power requests-for-proposals. The projected capital expenditures for these projects are approximately $4.1 billion from 2025 to 2031. The KPSC is expected to rule on the agreement by the fourth quarter of 2025.
