Leadership Transition at Athleta

The Gap, Inc. announced the departure of Chris Blakeslee, President and Chief Executive Officer of Athleta, effective July 31, 2025. Blakeslee will remain with the company until November 3, 2025, and will be eligible for separation benefits under the Senior Executive Severance Plan. Maggie Gauger has been appointed as the new President and CEO of Athleta, effective August 1, 2025. Gauger brings over 20 years of experience in women’s active apparel, including leadership roles at Nike. The transition aims to accelerate Athleta’s growth and reinvigoration in the women’s active market.
