Limited Power of Attorney for SEC Reporting by Jeffrey B. Guldner

Jeffrey B. Guldner, a director of Duke Energy Corporation, has appointed David S. Maltz, Lindsay B. Schall, Kristin M. Oberheu, and Jenny Pattana as his attorneys-in-fact for SEC reporting purposes. This Limited Power of Attorney authorizes them to act on his behalf in matters related to SEC filings, including obtaining EDGAR credentials, managing his EDGAR account, and executing Forms 3, 4, 5, and 144. The attorneys-in-fact are also authorized to seek information on transactions in Duke Energy securities from third parties and to perform any necessary actions to ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements. The Power of Attorney remains in effect until Guldner is no longer required to file these forms, unless revoked earlier.
