Diageo Appoints Interim Chief Financial Officer

Diageo plc announced the appointment of Deirdre Mahlan as Interim Chief Financial Officer, effective 18 August 2025. Mahlan brings extensive experience in the spirits industry and consumer goods, including 27 years at Diageo and predecessor companies. She previously served as Diageo's Chief Financial Officer from 2010 to 2015 and most recently as Interim President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairperson of The Duckhorn Portfolio. Nik Jhangiani, Interim Chief Executive Officer, expressed confidence in Mahlan's ability to guide the company and support the Accelerate programme for long-term sustainable growth. This appointment follows the departure of Debra Crew, who stepped down as Chief Executive Officer by mutual agreement on 16 July 2025.
