TeraWulf Acquires 1+ GW Eastern Kentucky HPC Campus
TeraWulf Inc. has announced the acquisition of a 285-acre site in Eastern Kentucky, named the Muskie Data Campus, intended for hyperscale AI and high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure. The campus is expected to support over 1 gigawatt (GW) of data center capacity, with initial delivery of 500 megawatts (MW) starting in the second half of 2028 and an additional 500 MW targeted for the second half of 2030. The acquisition includes a strategic partnership with Kentucky Power for a 345 kV substation connected to the existing 765 kV transmission network, ensuring utility-scale power infrastructure. Energy service agreements are in place, establishing a clear path for long-term power delivery. The Muskie Data Campus acquisition closed on May 22, 2026, and does not require third-party consents or regulatory approvals. This move expands TeraWulf's portfolio of large-scale, energy-advantaged digital infrastructure campuses and aligns with their strategy of developing shovel-ready AI and HPC sites.
