VivoPower Shortlists AI Tenants for Norway Data Center

VivoPower PLC has announced the shortlisting of AI tenants for its 41.5MW data center in Mo i Rana, Norway, following a competitive RFP process. The company rejected offers to acquire the asset, believing a long-term lease to AI operators for over 10 years offers greater value. The selection criteria included commercial terms, financial strength, operational alignment, strategic fit with VivoPower's AI infrastructure strategy, and expansion potential. VivoPower aims to finalize agreements by June 30, 2026. The Mo i Rana facility, powered by renewable energy at low costs, has an existing capacity of 41.5MW with potential for an additional 40MW, bringing the total to over 80MW. The company anticipates that new tenants will further improve its economic performance, which currently includes approximately $31 million in annual revenues and $10 million in EBITDA. VivoPower emphasizes its Power-to-X strategy and its role in supporting sovereign AI infrastructure development.
