SCHMID Group Announces Agreement for New China Manufacturing Campus

SCHMID Group N.V. has entered into a preliminary agreement with local authorities in China to establish a new manufacturing campus in Banfu Industrial Zone, Zhongshan, Guangdong Province. This new campus is intended to consolidate the company's existing two leased manufacturing facilities in China into a single, company-owned site. The facility is expected to nearly double the manufacturing capacity of its current China operations, enhancing efficiency through expanded space, improved layout, streamlined logistics, and optimized workflows. This strategic investment supports SCHMID's "In China for China" strategy, aiming to meet the increasing demand for advanced wet-process equipment used in manufacturing high-end HDI boards, IC substrates, AI server boards, and other advanced electronic applications. The total investment is estimated at approximately €11 million, with a significant portion expected to be financed through local Chinese banks with partially subsidized terms. Construction is anticipated to begin after the finalization of land transfer and permitting, with operations expected to commence around mid-2027.
