Rise Gold Corp. Litigation Update
Rise Gold Corp. announced that the United States District Court, Eastern District of California, has ruled in favor of Community Environmental Advocates (CEA) and granted Summary Judgment in Case Number 2:24-cv-03643. CEA sued Rise Grass Valley Inc., a subsidiary of Rise Gold, alleging responsibility for pollutants entering a local creek without a permit, in violation of the Clean Water Act. The suit claims discharges containing metals, including arsenic, originate from historic Idaho-Maryland mine shafts. Rise disputes these allegations, stating they do not own the relevant property, the mine shafts were decommissioned long ago, and there is no evidence connecting the alleged discharges to their operations. Rise also highlights that other alleged pollutants could not have originated from the mine. The company is reviewing the ruling.
