Quantum BioPharma Ltd. Reaches Milestone in Imaging Study for Multiple Sclerosis
Quantum BioPharma Ltd. announced a significant milestone in its collaborative study with Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) for multiple sclerosis (MS). Patient enrollment has reached the halfway mark, with encouraging preliminary imaging results from the PET tracer [ΒΉβΈF]3F4AP. This novel imaging technique aims to directly assess demyelinated neurons and track demyelination, potentially transforming how disease progression and treatment response are measured. Early data suggest robust signal in acute MS lesions and potential sensitivity to gray matter lesions, which could significantly enhance the evaluation of next-generation treatments like Quantum's Lucid-MS. The study's progress and preliminary data reinforce the potential of this imaging approach to accelerate the development of effective MS therapies. Quantum is also advancing Lucid-MS, a neuroprotective agent targeting demyelination, with a Phase 2 clinical trial planned following FDA submission. The company also provided an update on its spun-off entity, Unbuzzd Wellness Inc., detailing its ownership and royalty agreements.
