D-Wave Quantum Inc. Announces Forthcoming Gate-Model Quantum Computing Simulator
D-Wave Quantum Inc. announced on June 18, 2026, its upcoming gate-model quantum computing simulator, designed for error-aware programming. This simulator, built on D-Wave's dual-rail technology, will provide developers with visibility into errors, enabling them to design applications that respond to real processor behavior. It will offer tools for error detection, real-time control, and prototyping quantum applications and error-correction routines. D-Wave will also offer new quantum development bundles, including Starter and Premium packages, providing access to the simulator and expert guidance. Access to the simulator is scheduled to begin in September 2026. This development represents a significant step in D-Wave's gate-model roadmap, following their recent outline of a differentiated approach to fault-tolerant quantum computing. The simulator will support up to 21 qubits and integrate with D-Wave's Oceanβ’ SDK.
