Petrobras reported a total contribution of R$72.4 billion to the government in the first quarter of 2026. This amount comprises R$49.4 billion in taxes from its own operations, R$14.8 billion in Government Take, and R$8.2 billion in taxes withheld from third parties. Federal taxes and Government Take totaled R$42.1 billion, while state taxes amounted to R$29.6 billion, and municipal taxes were R$0.7 billion. The report details tax payments on a cash basis and notes an increase in federal contributions by 8% and state taxes by 13.4% compared to the previous year. A new Export Tax (IE) was also enacted in March 2026, with R$5.5 million collected in the first quarter. Government Take decreased by 9% compared to the same period in 2025, mainly due to lower Special Participation payments. Petrobras highlighted its significant role in ICMS tax contributions, accounting for over 10% of total ICMS payments in 20 Brazilian states.
