Petrobras Strengthens Strategic Partnership with Lightsource bp in Renewable Energy in Brazil

Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras ("Petrobras") has announced the completion of its acquisition of a 49.99% equity interest in Lightsource bp’s subsidiaries in Brazil. This establishes a strategic partnership in onshore renewable energy, including energy storage. The joint venture will have shared governance, with a Board of Directors featuring equal representation from both companies. Lightsource bp will contribute assets and projects in Brazil, such as the Milagres solar PV plant (212 MWp) and other projects in advanced development stages. Petrobras will leverage its expertise in engineering, licensing, and regulatory matters, alongside its strategic direction for renewable energy expansion. This initiative aligns with Petrobras's Business Plan 2026–2030, enhancing its presence in solar power generation and renewable sources within Brazil. Lightsource bp, a global independent power producer, operates in over 15 countries with a significant project pipeline.
