Petrobras Announces New Commercial Contracts with Braskem
Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras has signed new long-term contracts with Braskem S.A. for the supply of petrochemical naphtha, ethane, propane, hydrogen, and propylene. The naphtha contracts, valued at US$ 11.3 billion over 5 years starting January 1, 2026, will supply Braskem's plants in São Paulo, Bahia, and Rio Grande do Sul, with minimum quantities of 4.116 million tons in 2026 and 4.316 million tons in 2030. The ethane, propane, and hydrogen contract, valued at US$ 5.6 billion over 11 years starting January 1, 2026, will supply Rio de Janeiro, with quantities increasing from 580,000 tons per year to 725,000 tons per year by 2029. Propylene contracts, valued at US$ 940 million over 5 years starting May 18, 2026, will be sourced from Petrobras' refineries in Reduc, Recap, and Refap. These contracts are classified as Related Party Transactions and were reviewed by Petrobras’ Statutory Audit Committee.
