Ocean Power Technologies Expands Global Deployment Footprint
Ocean Power Technologies, Inc. (OPT) announced an expansion of its global deployment footprint across U.S. government, international, and research customers. In the U.S., OPT has increased its PowerBuoy® deployments to five systems, including three for U.S. Department of Homeland Security activities, one for U.S. Navy research, and one for a U.S.-based research institution, indicating a shift towards broader multi-agency use. Internationally, OPT has deployed three WAM-V® autonomous surface vehicles and one PowerBuoy® in the United Arab Emirates, with additional WAM-V deployments in Taiwan and other regions. The company is also showcasing its WAM-V platform at the Special Operations Forces Week event. This expansion in deployments across multiple regions and customers reflects a growing demand for persistent offshore monitoring and autonomous maritime capabilities.
