Olema Pharmaceuticals and Bayer Partner for Phase 1b/2 Study of OP-3136 in Prostate Cancer

On May 26, 2026, Olema Pharmaceuticals announced a clinical trial collaboration and supply agreement with Bayer to evaluate OP-3136, Olema’s novel KAT6 inhibitor, in combination with Bayer’s androgen receptor inhibitor, NUBEQA (darolutamide). The partnership will focus on a Phase 1b/2 study targeting approximately 36 patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The study aims to assess safety, tolerability, and preliminary anti-tumor activity, with trial initiation expected in the second half of 2026. Under the agreement, Olema will lead the conduct of the study while Bayer provides the supply of darolutamide. Clinical data and inventions resulting from the combination study will be jointly owned, though Olema retains full global commercial and marketing rights to OP-3136. This marks the first clinical collaboration for OP-3136, which is already being evaluated as a monotherapy in other solid tumors. Additionally, Olema noted that initial Phase 1 monotherapy data for OP-3136 is scheduled for presentation at the ASCO Annual Meeting on May 30, 2026.
