NRG Energy, Inc. Appoints Glenn Wright as Independent Director
NRG Energy, Inc. announced the appointment of Glenn Wright as an independent director to its Board of Directors, effective May 26, 2026. Mr. Wright brings extensive experience from his previous roles at Shell plc, including Senior Vice President of Shell Energy Americas and President and CEO of Shell New Energies, US. He also held leadership positions in energy trading and business development at Shell, as well as at Enterprise Business Development Inc. and Enron Corporation. Mr. Wright holds a Ph.D. and MS in chemical engineering and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BS in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He will participate in the companyβs director compensation program. This appointment is intended to strengthen the Board's governance and stewardship as the company pursues its strategic objectives.
