LEIFRAS Co., Ltd. Acquires Tokai Sports Co., Ltd.

LEIFRAS Co., Ltd. has entered into a stock transfer agreement to acquire all outstanding shares of Tokai Sports Co., Ltd., a Japanese corporation operating sports education businesses. The acquisition, expected to be effective June 1, 2026, will make Tokai Sports a wholly owned subsidiary of LEIFRAS. This strategic move aims to expand LEIFRAS's market share in the sports school sector, enhance customer lifetime value, and strengthen its position, particularly in the Nagoya and Owariasahi areas. Tokai Sports, with a 40-year history and approximately 1,200 members, including 800 in soccer and 400 in gymnastics, will integrate with LEIFRAS's brand and non-cognitive skills development methods. The acquisition is also expected to streamline operations through digitalization and leverage Tokai Sports's network of about 20 partner facilities to create a seamless development pathway from early childhood to junior high school. LEIFRAS views this as part of a broader roll-up strategy to consolidate the fragmented sports and education markets in Japan, with potential for future international expansion.
