Franco-Nevada Corporation: Panama Approves Processing of Stockpiled Ore at Cobre Panamá

Franco-Nevada Corporation has announced that the Government of Panama has approved the processing and export of stockpiled ore at the Cobre Panamá mine. This ore was extracted prior to the suspension of operations. First Quantum Minerals Ltd., Franco-Nevada's partner, estimates the stockpile at approximately 38 million tonnes, containing about 70,000 tonnes of recoverable copper. Franco-Nevada anticipates that processing this material will result in the delivery of approximately 23,000 gold ounces and 265,000 silver ounces.
