Vertical Aerospace Ltd. Announces Long-Term Landing Gear Partnership with Hyundai WIA

Vertical Aerospace Ltd. has entered into a long-term agreement with Hyundai WIA Corporation for the design, development, and manufacture of the landing gear system for its Valo electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Hyundai WIA will be responsible for the end-to-end design and production of a bespoke landing gear solution, leveraging its extensive experience in advanced manufacturing and mobility. This partnership is a significant step for Vertical Aerospace as it progresses towards certification and scaled production of its eVTOL aircraft. Hyundai WIA’s involvement, along with other key suppliers like Honeywell, Aciturri, and Evolito, strengthens Vertical’s supply chain and supports its strategy of collaborating with world-class partners. The agreement with Hyundai WIA, which includes support from UK-based engineering firm Stirling Dynamics, is expected to contribute to the development of a robust and innovative landing gear system that meets high safety and performance standards for the Valo aircraft.
