Evogene Subsidiary AgPlenus and Bayer Discontinue Herbicide Development Collaboration
On May 18, 2026, Evogene Ltd. announced that its subsidiary, AgPlenus Ltd., and Bayer AG have mutually decided to discontinue their collaborative herbicide development project. The termination follows a determination that the target protein, APTH1, did not meet the specific product criteria required for further development. Under the terms of the termination agreement, which became effective immediately on May 18, 2026, all assets previously licensed to Bayer under this collaboration will revert to AgPlenus. This includes the APTH1 protein target as well as any associated active molecules developed during the partnership. While the termination represents the end of this specific joint development effort, AgPlenus retains the intellectual property rights to the assets for potential future internal development or alternative licensing opportunities. The filing was submitted to the SEC via Form 6-K and is incorporated by reference into several of the company's existing registration statements.
