Ericsson Appoints New Head of Business Area Networks
LM Ericsson Telephone Company (Ericsson) announced the appointment of David Hammarwall as the new Head of Business Area Networks and Senior Vice President, effective October 1, 2026. Hammarwall, currently Head of Customer Unit T-Mobile in Market Area Americas, will succeed Per Narvinger, who has been appointed President and CEO of Ericsson. Hammarwall, with extensive experience in telecommunications and leadership roles within Ericsson since 2007, will report to the CEO and be based in Stockholm. He holds a PhD in telecommunications and has previously led various product areas, including 5G RAN. BΓΆrje Ekholm, President and CEO, expressed confidence in Hammarwall's expertise to drive success in 5G, AI, and the transition to 6G. Narvinger also welcomed Hammarwall's return to Business Area Networks, highlighting his technological leadership and market experience. Hammarwall stated his enthusiasm for the role, emphasizing Ericsson's advancements in network intelligence with AI in RAN and looking forward to collaborating with the team and customers.
