Ecopetrol Acquires 49% Interest in Jemeiwaa Ka'I Wind Cluster

Ecopetrol S.A. has advanced its acquisition in the Jemeiwaa Ka’I wind cluster by purchasing a 49% interest in the JK1 and JK2 wind projects for approximately USD 25.5 million. These projects, located in La Guajira, have an aggregate capacity of 259 MW and are expected to generate 1,100 GWh annually, contributing to Ecopetrol's energy demand and transition strategy with estimated decarbonization benefits of 4.3 million tons of CO₂ equivalent. The acquisition of the remaining four projects in the cluster is pending the satisfaction of precedent conditions. Ecopetrol, Colombia's largest integrated energy company, continues to expand its renewable energy portfolio while maintaining its significant presence in the hydrocarbon sector and international energy markets.
