Descartes Systems Group Inc. announced the acquisition of Extensiv, a provider of warehouse management and fulfillment solutions for third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and the brands they serve. This acquisition aims to enhance Descartes' warehouse and inventory management capabilities and expand its presence in the 3PL and e-commerce fulfillment market. Extensiv offers solutions for managing inventory, orders, B2B and B2C fulfillment, and billing across various sales channels, e-commerce platforms, online marketplaces, and carriers. The company also utilizes AI capabilities to provide insights and improve decision-making for warehouse operators. The acquisition, valued at approximately US $120 million, is Descartes' latest investment in the logistics service provider sector, following the recent acquisition of Tai, a provider of AI-powered transportation management solutions.
