Daktronics Acquires Display Business from XDC

Daktronics, Inc. has acquired a display business from X Display Company Technology Limited (XDC), including intellectual property, equipment assets, and technical expertise. This acquisition, which closed on December 22, 2025, is expected to enhance Daktronics' product innovation strategy, accelerate growth, and improve its competitive positioning. The acquired assets include proprietary technologies in mass-transfer processes and MicroLED fabrication, specialized equipment, and 15 key XDC employees. Daktronics believes this move will enable the development of next-generation display technologies, particularly in ultra-fine pixel pitch solutions for large-format video walls and medium-sized commercial displays. The company has been investing in XDC since 2020 to advance MicroLED capabilities. This strategic acquisition is anticipated to differentiate Daktronics across all its business segments and capitalize on the growing MicroLED market.
