Cemex Divests Colombian Operations
Cemex announced on March 12, 2026, its plan to divest certain operations in Colombia for approximately US$555 million. The divestment will occur through multiple transactions. The first transaction involves selling a cement plant, a grinding mill, and various concrete and aggregate plants to the Holcim Group for US$485 million, with an expected closing by year-end, subject to regulatory approvals. Cemex is also in negotiations with other parties for the sale of remaining assets, anticipating an additional US$70 million. This strategic move aligns with Cemex's focus on strengthening its position in key markets in the U.S., Europe, and Mexico, continuing its portfolio rebalancing efforts initiated in 2018. Following these transactions, Cemex will retain two cement plants, a grinding mill, and other facilities in Colombia, ensuring continued service to the Colombian market.
