Compass Minerals Announces Board of Directors Refreshment Initiative
Compass Minerals International, Inc. has announced a significant refreshment of its Board of Directors, increasing its size from eight to 12 members. Four new directors have been appointed: Russell Ball, Denise Merle, Mark Roberts, and David Safran, each serving until the 2026 annual meeting. These appointments are part of a strategy to enhance board expertise, particularly in industrial and manufacturing sectors relevant to the company's core Salt and Plant Nutrition businesses. New committees, including the Capital Allocation and Technical (CAT) Committee, have also been established. Concurrently, three directors—Lori Walker, Vance Holtzman, and Shane Wagnon—will not seek reelection, while Joe Reece plans to step down after the 2026 annual meeting. David Safran, despite his expertise, has been deemed not independent due to past business transactions between his company and Compass Minerals. The company plans to reduce its board size to nine directors after the 2026 meeting and further to eight by the 2027 meeting.
