Clearmind Reports Positive CMND-100 Data for Alcohol Use Disorder
Clearmind Medicine Inc. (Nasdaq: CMND) announced positive real-world insights from its ongoing Phase I/IIa first-in-human clinical trial of CMND-100, a non-hallucinogenic MEAI compound targeting Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD). During a webinar featuring investigators from the Yale School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins University, the company reported a promising early safety profile with no meaningful adverse effects or cardiac safety concerns observed to date. The investigators highlighted the compound's non-hallucinogenic profile, which differentiates it from classical psychedelics and could allow for a simpler treatment model without the need for intensive psychological supervision or hospitalization. This profile also improves trial blinding by reducing reliance on subjective psychedelic experiences. Recruitment is progressing well despite strict eligibility criteria. While the trial is currently focused on AUD, investigators noted the potential for broader applications of MEAI in other indications. CMND-100 aims to address the significant unmet need in AUD, where current treatments are limited and often carry notable side effects.
