American Airlines Group Inc. Officer Departure

Stephen L. Johnson, Vice Chair and Chief Strategy Officer of American Airlines Group Inc., has announced his plans to retire at the end of the year. Johnson has a long history with the company, starting in 1995 with America West Airlines and holding various roles, including Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs. He also spent time at Indigo Partners before rejoining US Airways in 2009. During his tenure, Johnson led the Commercial organization for 18 months, during which the company secured an agreement with Citi, revamped its sales and distribution strategies, enhanced its network and partnerships, and invested in customer experience improvements. CEO Robert Isom acknowledged Johnson's significant contributions and stated that the company will further celebrate his career as his retirement date approaches.
